Conexie – Caltex Spark Accelerator 2018

Conexie is an app made up of communication channels which are composed of options that allow uses to drill down and find links, answers to questions or the ability to submit action items.
Submissions are similar to a Whatsapp group however the participants are automatically added and typically don’t know each other however all have an interest in answering the question or actioning the item.
Why did you apply to the program?
Caltex and Slingshot both have well respected and strong brands within the Australian Innovation space. For the opportunity to work with such a progressive corporate as well as gain knowledge from the Slingshot brains trust was a huge opportunity for our team.
What’s it been like working with Caltex?
Caltex have been incredible to work with. Our sponsors all the way through to the customer staff on the ground at stations have all welcomed the accelerator program and what it could do for their day to day activities.
We are extremely excited to still be working with Caltex and have increased our pilot scope since graduating from the program.
What’s the biggest learning you’ll take away from the Slingshot program?
There was an endless list of valuable moments during the program that will shape the future of our business. With both Sebastian and myself taking huge leaps forward in our founder skill strengths. For myself the session on understanding pretotyping was probably the most valuable as it spoke directly to a significant pain our business had felt when strategising around product development.
What was your favourite aspect of the program?
The opportunity to work inline with the coal face of Caltex staff and teams so quickly after the program kicked off and the challenging but rewarding expectations of the slingshot teams were incredibly motivating.
What’s next for your Startup?
As we continue to develop our business partnerships with Caltex we also look to grow our existing customer base on the back of the case studies we are publishing. Also we are opening a fund raising round in the coming weeks to scale up this successful momentum.
